The Metekel Humanistic and Development Initiative is a legally recognized non-profit, non-political, non-religious and Humanistic-development-oriented Ethiopian Residents’ Humanitarian and development initiative,which is registered and certified by the FDRE Authority for Civil Society Organizations-AfCSO, with registration number of 5369, based on Proclamation number 1113/2011 (1113/2019).  It was established in 2021 (2013EC) by dedicated Ethiopians, living at different corners of the world. Currently the Initiative has opened its head office at Addis Ababa, led by board of directors and also has staffs who will lead day to day office and initiative activities. The major objective of the Initiative is to bring about sustainable changes in the livelihood of the people of Metekel and Awi Zones through intensifying Humanitarian assistance to IDPs and people in need; promoting
peace building, human right and   development interventions and building the capacity of Key actors, by mobilizing available resources. Currently, MHDI has signed an agreement of 5 month project grant, with British council CSSP2

1 Job Title: Institutional Consultancy-

Development of Strategic Plan, working manuals & webpage for MHDI
Job by: Metekel Humanistic and Development Initiative-MHDI
Location of Work/Expected travel location: Addis Ababa and at field level (Metekel and Awi)

Demonstrable knowledge, experience and technical ability to manage medium-large scale programmes with multiple stakeholders.
Experiance: in Preparation and producing SPM, Working manuals, and Webpage development programmes for online and face to face delivery for diverse audiences.
A demonstrable knowledge of the Ethiopian CSO, and with a network of expert contacts.
Be available to work primarily on this project between December 2022 to March 2023
The delivery partner to have logistics for  necessary data collection and analysis
Excellent communication skills including marketing and social media management for  the planned Programme delivery Expertise in provision training, mentoring and coaching on the pprepared SPM, Manuals and Webpages with creative including experience delivering programmes virtually.
Networking building – well networked in the creative economy sector with ability to draw together potential funders and implementing partners Excellent professional command of English and Amharic;  Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a multi-cultural team A licensed firm with 2014/15 EFY renewed consultancy trade license in a mandatory.

Job Description

Plan and implement zonal level CSSP2 project activities in partnership with communities, local government and partners as per approved plans.Maintain strong networks, collaborations and partnerships with communities, government offices.

1.7.2.and development partners in the District, to improve the delivery of quality service and sustain MHDI interventions. Plan and implement efficient and effective monitoring activities in the Action plan  to ensure

1.7.3.quality implementation and documentation system for CSSP2 grantProvide technical support to mobilize local resources and generate local funds for MHDI project

Models Plan and organize capacity building for local stakeholder actors at District, Kebele and community level.
Assure that assessed key needs of local structure  is fully integrated into the planning,Implementation and monitoring systems of the MHDI-CSSP2 plan Assure that relevant cross cutting themes (child protection, gender, disability, youth issues, and social safeguarding) are integrated into the project’s implementation.

2.7.Key responsibilities

3.Assists the Manager

in the overall Supervision of the project Financial Activities and ensures that the daily routines are carried out smoothly.
Take responsibility for all aspects of Finance, HR and Administration.
Prepare vacancy announcements for local recruitment at the project office level, receive applications participate in short listing and other recruitment processes.
Maintain proper records of all staff of project offices (personnel records, contracts, attendance,leave  documents, etc) and report to the manager.Perform and promote MHDI objectives with respect to organizational code of conduct, and other policies and regulations.
See to it that adequate stock of supplies are requested on time and maintained in accordance with the policy of MHDI. Operate and maintain the project’s Accounts according to MHDI procedures.

Participate in the preparation of annual/ Working Budget of the project jointly with the Accountant and Field program staff.
Prepare monthly Fund Request together with the the managr and the accountant based on the planned activity for the period.
Make sure that the monthly fund request is for the activities planned for that period only.
Make sure that the finance part of the Quarterly Monitoring Report (QMR) of the project tally the Narrative part of the report Collect the monthly Activity and financial report of the project from field office every month and should discuss with the manager and the accountant.
Code all disbursements & receipts according to MHDI procedure.
Make sure that all disbursements are summarized according to the cost centers and account codes.
Ensure that MHDI Procurement Procedures are followed and relevant financial documents, such as purchase requisitions, proforma invoice, purchase order, and Goods receiving Notes areproperly raised.
Prepares and checks Financial Statement every month and it  includes cash count balance.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
Supervise the Storekeepers and see to it that the purchase storing and issuing of goods are processed strictly in accordance with MHDI procedures.
Make sure that all project Fixed Assets are registered properly in accordance with MHDI procedures. Prepare monthly Payroll/Pay Sheet for Casual workers if any, based on the approved attendance and other relevant documents in consultation with the Manager. Together with the Manager, s/he is Answerable for all Purchases and Disbursements in regard to Budgetary provisions and stipulations.
Make sure that all necessary and appropriate taxes like 2% or 30% With Hold tax (WHT) Income taxes are deducted and paid to the concerned Tax Authority Offices on time

Job Requirements:

2.7.2.BA Degree in Business/Management/Public Finance/Accounting with at least two years relevant work experience. 
Good knowledge of accounting software such as Peachtree, ACCPAC and Excel.
Key competencies:

Ability to interact with people

Previous related experience in NGO setup is an advantage

Good command of both spoken and written English and local language of the area is plus.
